“True wisdom is knowing yourself.” Understanding who you are, what interests you, what motivates you, and your strengths and weaknesses is the key first step of the program. Students should be prepared for an honest conversation about themselves, which will serve as the foundation for future sessions. This step will also include a personality test.

How can you enter into a career path if you are completely unaware it exists? This will include a look at the past, present, and future of the labor market, as well as emerging industries to consider. This step includes a 20-minute conversation with a member of the Castanha Careers ambassador program (a professional from Jake’s network)

Like it or not, resumes and job interviews are crucial components of many careers. These are skills that take time to develop and must be practiced regularly. Together, we will take a strategic approach and understand how to create a standout resume. In addition, Jake will craft challenging interview questions tailored to the career field and allow students to ask him interview questions.

It doesn’t matter your age, reaching your career goals is based on what you're doing now! In this step, we will outline the steps you need to take over the next six months. This will be different for each student. Examples include gaining new skills or certificates, applying for jobs, networking with like-minded people, creating a LinkedIn profile, and more.

Career Coaching is about learning more about yourself in an ever changing world, the truly savvy coach delves deep into a person’s skill set to uncover passions or skills that may not be reflected on a resume it is about getting motivated to create a compelling vision and then a plan to execute on that vision.

This program is designed for people 16-23 who want to get the most out of their career. It doesn’t matter if you have a strong direction for your future or you have no idea what you want to do, so long as you are motivated to explore, envision, ask, plan, study, and work! Jake graduated from Pacific University in Oregon in 2019 with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and a minor in Philosophy. Since then, he has built a diverse career spanning property management, teaching English in South Korea, and working as a sales representative for a global software company. He is also a certified career coach through the IAP Career College, bringing a unique blend of international experience, communication skills, and business insight to his coaching
